Wapta Falls

These falls are about 30 meters high and 150 meters wide. Best visited around mid summer to mid fall. Easy family friendly trail that can be muddy in April, May, and part of June.

Take the Trans Canada Highway, No 1, to about half way between Field and Golden, BC. Turn off at Wapta Falls Rd and drive about 10 mins. Park there. Washrooms available before and after your hike.

This is a very worthwhile hike to the Falls on a meandering path through the woods with plenty of views both ways. Walk the 4 km trail to the first viewing area at the top of the falls.

Continue to the lower end of the trail and be prepared for an awesome view looking up at the falls. Be aware of slippery rocks when wet. You do not want to slip and fall into that water. Wear slip proof shoes or boots and bring a poncho along if you don’t want to get too wet from the mists.
